A safe place to think, feel, and begin again.

When relationships feel strained or communication has broken down, the impact can ripple across generations. Whether you’re navigating conflict, loss, distance, or long-standing emotional pain, therapy offers a compassionate, confidential space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface.
I work with individuals and couples — supporting them to move beyond blame and reactivity, toward greater understanding, honesty, and emotional safety.

Welcome — I’m Kate Gilbert

When relationships hurt, therapy offers a place to begin again.

I’m a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience, working with individuals and couples in Hove and online.

Life presents emotional challenges — from communication breakdowns and anxiety to loss and trauma. Therapy can be a meaningful way to explore what’s going on and discover new ways of relating — both to yourself and others.

About Kate

With a background in languages and a long-standing interest in unconscious communication, I bring a depth of attention to what’s spoken — and unspoken — in the therapy room.

My work is grounded in psychoanalysis, Gestalt, and mind-body understanding.

specialisms

In addition to my core practice, I specialise in supporting individuals who are experiencing the effects of narcissistic abuse and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). My approach provides a safe, compassionate space to process difficult experiences, rebuild self-confidence, and move towards healing and resilience.
